Jean Guyon

Jean Guyon (or Dion-Guyon)... was a master mason and a surveyor. He was recruited in Mortagne, Normandy, March 4, 1634 by Robert Giffard and set sail soon after from Dieppe with his 16-year old son, Jean. It was May 1634 and they were destined for Canada where they arrived in Québec on June 4, 1634. On that same voyage were Zacharie Cloutier and the Boucher brothers, Gaspard and Marin and over thirty other contract workers. This would be Robert Giffard's first successful group of settlers from the Perche region of Normandy.
